Employee Spotlight: A Journey of Growth and Grace

Meet Annisa Masulili: fondly known as Nisa from Indonesia. You can find her now in Thailand, where she has recently taken up a new role. Her journey across the seas and across functions beautifully reflects the Group’s values of Trust, Entrepreneurship, Commitment, Prudence and Partnership.

“My role has always been in supporting our people and the business,” she shares. “Much of my time goes into working closely with leaders, listening to our people and ensuring HR isn’t just about processes, but about creating a workplace where everyone feels valued.”

When asked what she finds most rewarding, her answer comes with a smile:

“Watching people grow. Seeing them gain confidence, take on new opportunities, or simply feel more secure in their roles, those are the moments that make this work meaningful.”

The Moment That Changed Everything

Three and a half years ago, when Group Chief Human Resources Officer Olivia Chua, together with the Country Managers, offered her the chance to lead HR in Indonesia, Nisa hesitated. Doubts crept into readiness, about responsibility.

Yet she said yes. Not with blind confidence, but with courage.

“Over these past 3.5 years, I’ve tried to lead but can’t help feeling vulnerable. Then I’ve learned to be more assertive and discovered that leadership isn’t about being perfect, but about being authentic and intentional.”

The Next Chapter

In October this year, Nisa reached a new milestone as she transitioned into her Group role as Talent Manager, relocating to Thailand. Together with the rest of the Talent Team, she will undertake the initiatives to enhance talent development and training in the new five-year plan, aligned to thrive.

“I’m truly excited and grateful for this opportunity to connect with people across different countries,” she shares. “It feels like a new chapter, not because everything before was perfect, but because every up and down has taught me something I’ll carry into this next stage: with trust in the journey, commitment to people, prudence in every decision and an entrepreneurial spirit to keep growing.”

Wisdom for the Journey

Her reflections offer valuable insights for others bracing themselves for change.

“Don’t be afraid of tough moments or of being vulnerable. Lead with empathy but always support it with data and clear thinking. The moments that challenge you the most are often the ones that prepare you for what comes next.”

She continues: “Culture eats strategy for breakfast,” a reminder that people and culture bring every plan to life.
