16 Personal Care Formulations to Kick-Start Innovation
Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients Consumer Industries Innovation Centre in Bangkok streamlines supply chain, lets principals and customers visualise manufacturing from ingredients through to finished products.
Bangkok / Singapore, 12 Feb 2018 – At USD 5bn a year, Asia is the world’s leading beauty market, accounting for 51% of global sales. The fast-growing consumer populations of South East Asia are increasingly able to afford beauty and hygiene products, and producers big and small are looking to capitalise on this mega trend.
Innovation, however, is often out of reach for most small and medium-sized companies in South East Asia, especially against the large marketing and research budgets of Korean and western skincare giants. To help local Asian companies get a head start, Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients (JJING) has launched a series of guideline formulations to enable personal care companies to create new products to meet the needs of consumers.
The 16 guideline formulations were developed by a team of in-house technical lab experts to showcase the different applications of daily personal care products including facial cleansers, mouthwash, sunscreen, toothpaste for hypersensitivity, roll-on deodorant and more. Key products include anti-wrinkle serum ReGENESEA™ LS, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles after 15 days while boosting skin hydration and providing a barrier function. Those looking for organic sunscreen to meet growing demand for natural products can turn to SunCat (Encapsulated organic sunscreens dispersion), which provides perfect UVA & B protection via popular organic sunscreens Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate etc. in a stable and easy to use dispersion.
The formulations were created in the JJING Consumer Industries Innovation Centre in Bangkok. Customers can visit the centre to work with specialists to adapt the recipes for their needs while experiencing the latest trends and technology products, and to visualise the role that ingredients play in a finished product.
"The formulation prototypes that were developed in our labs are a key differentiating factor that sets us apart from the competition. Using specialty ingredients from leading brands such as Innovacos and BioNest, we help our customers to innovate, and adapt faster to the dynamic and growing ASEAN markets,” shared Marc Deschamps, Regional Managing Director, Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients.
“Our 600 m2 regional Consumer Industries Innovation are conveniently located in Bangkok, Thailand. It provides regional customers and suppliers with value-added services like research and application development.
