Retirement Celebration
TT Tai, General Manager of Jebsen & Jessen Business Services in M’sia, retires.
After more than three decades of service at Jebsen & Jessen, TT Tai, General Manager of Jebsen & Jessen Business Services in Malaysia, has retired, celebrating with a dinner reception on 31 July 2019.
A Warm Reception
Just as Mr Tai wished, his farewell party was a simple get-together with colleagues and friends. There were no big speeches or shows, and the reception was attended by long-time colleagues from different business units as well as co-workers from Central and Business Services who flew in from across ASEAN.
“Despite working with Tai for only two years, Tai’s thoughtful and professional way of working was like insurance to me. And I believe the same applies to many of his colleagues and friends who are here tonight. You can just bank on him,” said Chief Financial Officer Viktor Leendertz in his farewell speech, which was full of appreciation.
Exciting Career
In line with his modest nature, Mr Tai had an ordinary start to his career in Jebsen & Jessen as an Assistant Accountant back in 1985. However, there is nothing ordinary about his impressive career progression within the Group. As his strengths grew evident, he got seven promotions in 14 years – an average of one promotion every other year.
During his career, he managed many major changes, first running the commercial activities for the whole of Malaysia with the implementation of Jebsen & Jessen Business Units, then overseeing the implementation of SAP, and finally heading the introduction of the Business Service Unit in Malaysia since 2001.
In 2010, Mr Tai celebrated his 25-year long service milestone. Prior to his retirement, he plays a vital role in planning and moving Business Services, Cable Technology, Ingredients, Life Sciences and Technology business unit previously based in our Petaling Jaya facilities to a new and modern facility in 2017. Finally, his contribution to the recent the Group’s business services optimisation project to prepare a new organisational setup for our finance-related services was widely recognised by the senior management team.
Mr Tai’s wealth of experience at Jebsen & Jessen and his professional manner will be missed by many. All the best for your well-deserved retirement.
